Joseph G Berry
Developer and ML Engineer
Berkeley, California
I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. My academic interests blend machine learning, computer security, operating systems, and large-scale data systems, with coursework spanning deep learning, ML fundamentals, and systems architecture.
My experience ranges from research and engineering roles to military systems administration. I have built end-to-end ML pipelines for methane leak detection, designed data portals for electron microscopy research, and led secure infrastructure projects for DoD environments. I also served in the Marine Corps eventually reaching Sergeant, where I balanced personnel leadership with mission-critical network and server operations.
Today I focus on AI agents, multi-modal architectures, and cloud-native engineering using tools like PyTorch, Docker, GCP, FastAPI, and React. I enjoy turning complex technical requirements into practical, production-ready systems that bridge hardware, software, and user workflows.
Outside of work and study, I stay curious about AI agent collaboration, large-scale data pipelines, and secure distributed systems. I also spend time exploring communities where technology and real-world impact intersect.
